About the Workshop

Algorithms’ Impact on Artificial Intelligence is a workshop organized by members of the GNCS (National Group for Scientific Computing), affiliated with both the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Mathematics at the University of Bari Aldo Moro. The topics addressed will be diverse and multidisciplinary.

In particular, we aim to analyze how the development and research of new numerical strategies impact artificial intelligence algorithms, both in terms of accuracy and efficiency, thereby enhancing classical approaches.

Topics of interest are:

• Low-rank approximation techniques
• Numerical optimization strategies
• Numerical linear algebra, deterministic and randomized algorithms
• Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence, with special focus on probabilistic models, PDEs and ODEs driven models, Symbiotic AI, Explainability, Ethical AI and Human Centered AI, etc. etc.

The widespread use of artificial intelligence in various fields, from academic research to the industrial context, will be extensively discussed in a roundtable organized in collaboration with CIRPAS (Interuniversity Center for Research on “Population, Environment, Health”), dedicated to examining its impact and implications from a social perspective.

The workshop does not require registration fees; it is free of charge, although registration is required for organizational purposes. The venue is the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bari Aldo Moro.
